How to enter Google map in Maps section?

Guys, I’m pulling my hair over here – how do I enter my Google map into the MAP Section?

1. I imported dummy content and started building my site.
2. On the “Contact us” page there is a MAP “Section”.
3. When editing this section there was already some shortcode called [wrap =”googlemap”] and an image beneath it (frame for the image).

4. I understand how to get the my location link on the maps.google.com and I realize I need to remove the “s” from the “https” link but

   How do I recreate the appropriate shortcodem with the src=”” and insert my link?

Pls do not use the shortcode since it is obselete after the recent API change by Google. Pls use the embed code provided by Google Maps directly on their site. Click on the bottom right setting link in the following URL and you should see a “Share and Embed Map” link –

Just paste the code provided by Google into map section.

thanks for your quick reply! I tried doing as you advised but it still isn’t working.

I pasted the iframe code in the “content” box of the MAP Page section and all I am getting on my Contact us page is this iFrame code beneath showing through the main menu

Also, should I chose the default size that Google provides or chose another value(s)?

You should paste it in the Text tab (HTML tab) of the editor since it is HTML code. At present looks like you have it pasted in Visual Editor which treats it as text instead of HTML.

:)) DUUH! Sorry, my bad. Sometimes the solution is the most simple one.

How can I change its size? right now it takes up the whole of the screen on the Contact page and if user tries to scroll down (and see other contact info) all it does is change the map zoom level

You usually get to choose the size when you try to get the code for embedding in maps.google.com. At least, that’s how it has worked for me all the time. Pls try “Share and Embed” again and see if you can specify the size -height specially.

Worked like a charm! I put 1140×300 (this 300 height was the key).
